The odd name of Cheerwine, which is not a wine and contains no alcohol, comes from its burgundy wine-like color, cherry flavor and – of course – the smile it puts on the face of its drinkers, which it’s been doing since 1917.
Subject of a New York Times write-up and Food Network praise, the popularity of this beverage has yielded ice cream, sherbet, cream bars and yes – even Krispy Kreme donuts -- all of which brandish the signature Cheerwine flavor. And now that Cheerwine is available from Beverages Direct, you can finally discover the south’s best-kept secret for yourself, no matter where you live. Cheerwine is indeed a cherry different soda: born in the south. Raised in a glass.

Very smooth, just enough cherry just enough cola flavor. The perfect soda
Had some cheerwine on my vacation to the South. Is not sold in my area. Cheerwine is unique. It is a dark cola taste like Dr. Pepper, with cherry mixed in,with a slight note of Robitussin. It must be an elixir of sorts. I do quite like it.
Get for my husband, an ny expat who previously loved dr browns but cheerwine has that beat
Cheerwine, to me, has a taste between cherry cola and Dr. Pepper. I believe it is meant to be more on the Cherry side but, whatever the case, it takes me "home" to my southern heritage. Give it a try. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
