Beverage Review:
 Maine Root was established when founder, Matt Root, was helping a friend in his Portland, Maine pizza parlor. He discovered that the root beer they were serving was less than appetizing, so he did some experimenting and eventually created his own blend.
He tested his new creation on patrons of the same pizza parlor, and when the root beer became a smash hit… Maine Root was born!
Soon Maine Root Root Beer was selling in local venues. Then, Matt’s brother Mark joined the operation to help with furthering the brand’s distribution.
Today, Maine Root is enjoyed by customers from its home town of Portland all the way to Texas and beyond. Stores like Whole Foods and Wild Oats sell the brand nationwide because it is organically made from raw cane sugar; and is considered healthier than many other soft drinks.
Maine Root has also expanded their operations to include not only their original root beer beverage, but a wide range of other sodas icluding Ginger Brew, Sarsaparilla, Blueberry, Mandarin Orange, and Lemon Lime. All of them are organic products, and the company takes pride in its efforts at being environmentally friendly. In fact, for local delivery and distribution, Matt converted a gasoline car to run on recycled fryer oil from fast food restaurants!
