Beverage Review:
 Druthers Root Beer is a unique variety because it also has a hint of vanilla flavor so that is tastes more like a root beer float. That is why it is aptly named “Black Cow” (another name for root beer float).
The name black cow originates with Frank Wisner who created carbonated soda waters to his Cripple Creek Colorado gold mining district workers. He wanted to create a drink specifically for children, and is said to have been inspired while
looking out over his cow pastures one night. There was a full moon, which frank says reminded him of a dollop of vanilla ice cream over the dark pastures below. This inspired him to place ice cream in his red root beer drink. It became an
instant hit. It was originally called Black Cow Mountain, but was later shortened to merely Black Cow.
The original classic is what led Druthers Beverage Company to create their gourmet root beer. It has a mixture of the traditional root beer flavor combined with creamy vanilla that gives it a distinct “black cow” flavor. They also created two other flavors:
Orange Cow and Red Cow.
