NuGrape Soda

NuGrape Soda

The Nesbitt's Fruit Products Company was founded in 1924 by Hugh S. Nesbitt, and was franchised from Nesbitt Fruit Products, Los Angeles, California, producing syrups to be used in soda fountains. The company produced a full line of fountain products through the years including Nesbitt's NuGrape and various fruit flavors that were mixed with soda water.

Although Nesbitt's came in a variety of flavors, all were marketed in the same bottle and identified by different caps. The brand was franchised to independent bottling companies all over the United States and around the world. Nesbitt's Fruit Products Company was eventually sold to Clorox in 1972.

Love that Nugrape
I've been drinking Nugrape for 47 years, for primarily 2 good reasons. No. 1, it is the best tasting grape soda out there,(in my humble opinion), and No. 2; When I was 16 my dad and I played golf weekly(except for my college days) for 20+ years, and we always had a cold Nugrape between Holes 9 and 10. GREAT TIMES I will never forget. Thanks Nugrape for being a part.

The best grape soda I've had so far
While there are several excellent grape sodas out there, I think NuGrape is the best all-around example of what a grape soda should be. It has a nice grape flavor, with a nice crisp delivery that is refreshing. It doesn't have a heavy syrupy aftertaste that some grape sodas can have. Also note: The description here says it's made with corn syrup, but I've found many of the bottled examples I've run across are made with cane sugar.
