Frostie Root Beer dates back to 1939 when George Rackensperger decided to open his own soda bottling plant. In a suburb of Baltimore, Rackensperger rented an aboned jailhouse and started his bottling operation in the garage that was used for the police wagons. This was the bottling plant of The Frostie Company until demand of Frostie Root Beer increased beyond this plant's capacity.
Over the next 10 years Frostie Root Beer continued to grow and was being consumed in a majority of the states with the help of many franchised bottlers. Soon Frostie became a national franchised beverage company. Today Leadge Edge Brands maintains the beverage rights to Frostie Root Beer.
